Trampoline Assembly, Care, and Maintenance

It doesn't take long to get one ready for use

Before you and your kids can use an outdoor trampoline or mini trampoline, some assembly is required. You certainly don't need to be a handyman, because putting a trampoline together isn't difficult; it takes less than an hour. Trampolines require very little care and maintenance.

Pick out the spot for the trampoline

Before assembling the Airzone trampoline, find a level spot with at least 24-feet clearance from the ground. Make sure there are no tree limbs, wires, or fences nearby. A layer of white sand underneath and around the Airzone trampoline is recommended.

Once you've removed all the pieces from the box, check to make sure everything was packed. Follow all assembly instructions closely to make sure the trampoline will perform safely. Be aware that some city ordinances require a 6-foot safety fence surrounding the trampoline.

After your trampoline is assembled, anchor it securely to the ground. Trampoline accessories can add to the safety for users. A safety net trampoline enclosure, for example, prevents users from falling off the outdoor trampoline. A safety pad provides added protection for users and helps keep rain and snow from damaging the trampoline frame.

It's important that the outdoor trampoline be placed in a well-lighted area. If a Jumpking trampoline is to be used at night, make sure the outdoor illumination is powerful enough to keep users safe.

Caring for your trampoline

A properly installed trampoline with safety accessories and a protective trampoline cover should give you between two and five years of trouble-free use. Little care and maintenance is required, but you'll want to inspect the Magic Circle trampoline on occasion for any worn parts.

Trampoline springs are critical components that require monthly inspection. Broken or missing springs should be replaced immediately to ensure safe operation. An occasional spray of WD40 will add more life to springs. Replacement springs are available from sporting goods stores or online.

It's also important to inspect the trampoline before each use for puncture holes or tears on the jumping surface, bent or broken frame or legs, and sharp protrusions on the enclosure tubes or suspension. The safety mat should be replaced if it becomes worn.

If you live in an area with winter conditions, you might want to disassemble the trampoline and store it in a dry, cool place to ensure longer life, and reassemble it with the return of warmer weather. At a minimum, it's a good idea to store the protective pad indoors to keep it from being harmed by cold temperatures that could cause cracks in the pad.
